Ultrasound:  Ultrasound is a treatment modality used by Physical
Therapists to promote tissue relaxation resulting in the decrease
of muscle spasm and tightness.  Sound waves produced by the
Ultrasound machine are transmitted to the affected tissue.  The
warming effect of the sound waves can cause vessel
vasodilation and therefore increase circulation which assists in
healing.

Electrical Stimulation:  E-Stim uses an electrical current to  cause
a single group or a group of muscles to contract.  This helps to
"re-train" the muscles resulting in a strengthening of the affected
muscle.  Adjustments to the equipment can be made for either a
gentle or forceful muscle contraction.  E-Stim can also be used
as an excellent source for pain control as it will help to reduce
muscle tension and help to stimulate endorphin production.  (the
body's natural pain relieving mechanism)

Iontophoresis:  Iontophoresis is a non-invasive method of
delivering drugs into the body.  It is a non-systemic option in
which drugs are delivered directly to the treatment site.  It is a
relatively pain-free option for those who may be reluctant or
unable to receive injections.

Traction:  Traction is used to apply a mild stretch to the muscles,
ligaments, and tissues of the spine to provide pain relief.
Traction helps to minimally seperate the space between the
vertebrae, that contains the disc and may help to reduce a
"bulge" or impingement of the structures in the affected area.
